Because I am 80 years old and have some health issues I was concerned about having major surgery. My experience with Dr. Karas and his staff has been excellent. I was in extreme pain because I needed to have my left hip replaced. I was referred to Dr. Karas by a friend who was his patient. Doctor listened to what I said and after a thorough examination explained in detail what is involved in the surgery I needed. His staff made sure that all necessary medical approvals and tests were completed and scheduled my surgery quickly. Other than minor pain from the surgery I was completely free of the excruciating pain caused by my hip joint. I am grateful to Dr Karas and recommend him to everyone.*

Dr Vasili Karas is very good orthopaedik surgeon.On October 2021 he performed Hip joint replacement surgery
Also he installed titanium plate.This was complicated surgery but he did his best.Next 4 months with physical therapy IrecoveredI can an strongly recommend Vasili Karas as orthopaedic surgeon my name is Vesselin Valtchev ,Bartlett*

Very impressed with the process before surgery. All the staff that I have come in contact with have been friendly and supportive. It is helpful the updates you get via text before surgery of reminders of what to or not to do.
The video and booklet I received before surgery where also helpful.*

Had my 1 year appointment and everything was very good!
I would recommend Dr. Vasili Karas and his team for either a hip or knee replacement or surgery. Six weeks after my surgery, I was called to substitute as a PE teacher at a junior high school And everything went well. Now for the summer, I have been playing in golf tournaments.*

Dr. Kara’s Resident discussed how my knee was feeling! I told her the humid weather bothered me a little but I go to my pt. Twice a week and walk a lot and it does not bother me . She then gave me my shot in my knee and I made an appointment to return in 3 months.
Everyone on Dr.Kara’s staff is very professional!

Dr. Karas and his team are the Best ! Everything is covered and any questions you have are answered right away. I followed the program and was very fortunate to not have any issues. I took medication as instructed and it turned out great. Doing my other knee in August and hopefully it will.have the same outcome.*

With both knees bone-on-bone and also suffering from psoriasis, my condition was one the orthopedists at NW Medical had failed to provide me with relief.
A nurse friend suggested I search a University-based joint replacement practice. I secured an appointment almost three months out with Dr Karas.
I was impressed with his doctor-patient manner and his efficient and personable PA, xxxx.
It was his candor which impressed me most of all. He admitted that his experience with psoriasis patients was limited, and that I might have a better outcome if I was referred to another Rush Knee Replacement Specialist with more experience with patients like me.
I am looking forward to that appointment in two weeks.
I wish I had seen Dr Karas two years ago instead of going in that Northwestern direction.*

Dr. Kara’s is personable and genuine. As Patient he listened to me and actually heard what I was saying. Dr. Kara’s took the time to evaluate my knee replacement done by a different surgeon. He is the reason I switched to Midwest Orthopedics for a second opinion. I would recommend him to anyone that needs an excellent orthopedic surgeon and doctor.*
